Wedding Flowers

Melanie Spooner asked:

Flowers are an important accessory for your wedding and should be designed to compliment and enhance your wedding colours and theme.  Your flowers will be an important decision and it is likely to be something that may take you a little while as there are so many beautiful flowers to choose and decide upon !

To help you choose your flowers you will need to visit a florist.  The florist will be able to give you advice and recommendations as to the flowers that suit your requirements both in colour, availability and theme as well as your budget.  It may be that you already have some ideas of your own which you can discuss with your florist who can then turn these ideas into a working vision.

When you arrange to visit a florist to discuss your wedding flowers it is a good idea to take along with you a picture of your dress along with fabric sample (if available), picture of your bridesmaid dress and fabric sample along with any pictures of bouquets and/or table arrangements that you have seen that you like.  The florist should also have available their own portfolio for you to view.

Flowers can be provided for all aspects of your wedding day from the bridal party bouquets, buttonholes and corsages, through to decorations at the church/wedding ceremony venue and also the reception venue/marquee.  How you choose to decorate your wedding with flowers is your decision and can be influenced by your chosen venue itself.  Again your florist can advise you on this and as most florists will have a knowledge of the wedding venues situated around them they will be able to guide you on what would be required if necessary.
